What’s Next: Policing in Crisis (video)

On Thursday, July 23, 2020, the National Institute hosted a virtual forum on policing in America. National Institute President Fred Larsen was joined by three criminal justice scholars from diverse backgrounds for a lively, wide ranging discussion of the origins behind and the potential solutions to the current crisis of policing in America.

  • Tracey Meares – Walton Hale Hamilton Professor and a Founding Director of the Justice Collaboratory at Yale Law School

  • Emily Owens – Professor of Criminology, Law and Society at UC Irvine and senior research fellow at the National Police Foundation

  • Victor Rios – Associate Dean of Social Science and Professor of Sociology at UC Santa Barbara
